I am a COVID-19 survivor and double lung transplant recipient. I grew up in Trenton, OH and now reside in Virginia Beach, VA. After graduating from the U.S Naval Academy in 1988, I came to Hampton Roads, Virginia and served as a surface warfare officer on three deployments including two tours to the Persian Gulf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I am the founder of New Again Houses Virginia Beach and have over 20 years of experience buying, selling, renting, and investing in real estate. I have been married to my wife Bonnie for 31 years and a proud father of our daughter, Shaeleigh, who attends Liberty University and is a member of the LU Figure Skating team.

On May 12th, 2022, President Joe Biden announced a tragic milestone in U.S. history: one million lives lost to COVID-19. I could have been the million and one, but miraculously, after enduring eight months in the hospital, 7 months on a ventilator in ICU, 6 weeks in a coma, 3 near-death episodes, and receiving a life-saving double lung transplant, I became the one in a million COVID-19 survivor who walked out of UVA hospital on May 13th, 2022.

So, after two and a half years of recovery, I am completing the LifeNet Health 2024 Race for Hope 5K in honor of my donor and his family.
